Chase City provides country living with all the amenities of the city. Housing is available for the executive lifestyle as well as the average employee with architecture ranging from modern to Colonial to Cape Cod and including multifamily rentals as well as exclusive subdivisions. Civic, cultural, and fraternal organizations are an integral part of the community's enviable life style. Active garden clubs, a chapter of the Virginia museum of Fine Arts, the Archaeological Society of Virginia, Ruritans, Lions International, Masonic Lodges, Virginia Historical Society, and the Friends of the Library contribute to the enjoyable quality of life and the comfortable friendly atmosphere of Chase City. All major Protestant denominations are represented among the active churches of Chase City, which are at the center of social and cultural life.

An active Chamber of Commerce promotes Economic Growth for Chase City and its citizens as they strive to improve the Quality of Life and Employment Opportunities. The Chamber sponsors several downtown festivals, car shows, a golf tournament, a parade each year and other events annually.

In a continuing effort to keep Chase City in the twenty-first century, the Downtown Revitalization Committee has an aggressive program to modernize the Main Street shopping area. With a project budget of $2,072,506, the facades of many business buildings were being upgraded to coincide with the installation of stamped concrete sidewalks designed, and colored, to blend in with the atmosphere of the town. Also included in the project was new street lamps, benches and trash receptacles, along with the relocation of utility poles, lines and cables to side streets. Flowering trees were added to bring beauty and ambiance to the business district.

Newly renovated downtown also boosts a Community Pavilion which hots farmer's market, various civic organization functions, concerts, meetings and other community functions.

The Town has four banks, two major grocery stores and two drug stores. Also a quaint Main Street has several eating establishments, a coffee shop, speciality shops and stores for casual shopping.
