The Town of Chase City has an immediate opening for a Water and Sewer Plant Operator
General duties & requirements:
- Operates wastewater treatment plant, take samples, performs tests, maintains records, files, prepares reports
- Performs grounds keeping and housekeeping duties
- Unloads and stores supplies
- Transports processed sludge to landfill
- Checks pumping stations to ensure proper operation
- General knowledge of wastewater treatment plant principles, procedures
- Mechanical aptitude
- Any combination of education/experience equivalent to graduation from high school and experience in the operation of a wastewater treatment plant
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. MUST HAVE A CURRENT CDL.
- Possession of a Class 111 or Class IV Water or Wastewater Treatment Operator’s License issued by the Commonwealth of Virginia
- Weekend and holiday work is required.
